'Over Hugged' Collection 2013
Welcome to Seraphim Bears. 2013 is going to
be a sentimental journey with bears represented and styled in an “Over Hugged”
image. These bears will have names that have stood the test of time; names your grandmother would be proud of. I
will be creating an entirely new line for the 2013 hug in muted tones of
creams, beige, browns and even some soft pink and blues, in decadent mohair, alpaca and viscose. The bears will be stuffed with cotton, wool, granules and excelsior and wear
clothes and accessories representative of days gone by. The over hugged image
will be true to time honored bears from long ago with felt paws, worn or waxed noses and
deep dark German and English black glass or boot button eyes. Most, if not all, bears created in the new design will have a pocket over their heart and all will have tails. It is going to be a very exciting year here
at Seraphim Bears Studio and we welcome you to join us and enjoy your first “Over
Hugged” Seraphim Bear. You won't want to stop hugging your new bear.
The "heart pocket" was created as a thankfulness for my last year. In 2012 after becoming very ill I was finally diagnosed with a heart condition. It took the doctors 20 years to figure out what was wrong, but with gratitude, I was finally prescribed some medication that has helped me to regain a normal life and allowed me to continue creating my bears. The pocket will hold a "lucky" Canadian penny as a thank you to all of you who have supported me through my first years of designing and continue to do so. My new bear design is slightly autobiographical in this feature. I am so grateful for each and every day and you are all a very big part of my journey here. I hope you will enjoy this new feature and that your penny will bring you good luck... not to mention your bear offering so much love and warmth.
All Seraphim Bears patterns from previous years are now being retired and entering the vault. Thank you to all of you who adopted these bears.
